Zanzibar Cars has rented vehicles to visitors and residents of the island since 2018. We are a local, independent company based in Stone Town, and we know the roads you are about to drive — from the narrow lanes of the old town to the coral rag tracks out to Matemwe and Kizimkazi.
Our fleet runs from the compact Suzuki Escudo through the Toyota RAV4 to 7-seat 4x4s, all air conditioned and maintained in-house. Every rental includes unlimited mileage, basic insurance and free delivery to Zanzibar International Airport or your Stone Town hotel. We arrange your Zanzibar driving permit at the official $20 cost with no markup, and there is no deposit to pay.
Alongside self-drive hire we run chauffeured cars and airport transfers to Nungwi, Paje, Jambiani, Matemwe and anywhere else on the island. Book online, or message us on WhatsApp and we will reply quickly — most of our customers find that easiest.
